Symptoms and diagnosis of magnesium deficiency in moong crop

  • In green gram crop, Magnesium deficiency symptoms first appear on lower leaves and become white to yellow with the base of the leaf remaining green.  

  • Later leave spots appear in between the veins and the leaves are curled downward direction.  

  • In severe conditions pale brown necrotic spots develop with dark brown margin on pods and leaves of plants. 

  • For its control, spraying of magnesium sulphate at the rate of 1 kg per acre can be done by mixing it with 150-200 litres of water.
