The scientific name of this insect is Helicoverpa armigera. In the chilli crop, the larva of this insect enters the fruit and eats the fruit. As a result the fruits rot. This leads to a decrease in production as well as a decrease in the quality of the fruit.
Control measures
For its control, Spray Novalaxam (Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC) @ 60 ml or ETNA (Profenophos 40% + Fenpyroximate 02.50% w/w EC) @ 400 ml + silicomaxx @ 50 ml, per acre @ 150 to 200 liters of water.
According to TNAU Spray Emanova (Emamectin benzoate 5 % SG) @ 80 gram or Takumi (Flubendiamide 20 WDG) @ 120 gm + silicomaxx @ 50 ml, per acre @ 150 to 200 liters of water.
