Annadoot scheme will give employment opportunity to youth

The central and state governments are running many schemes to connect the youth with self-employment. In this episode, the Madhya Pradesh government has started ‘Annadoot Yojana’ for the youth in the state. Through this scheme, the state government has decided to give the responsibility of delivering food grains to the ration shops to the youth. For this, food grains of 6 to 8 tonnes capacity will be procured to be given to the youth. For the purchase of these vehicles, the government itself will give a guarantee to the banks and a grant of 3%.

Under this scheme, Rs 65 has been fixed by the government at the rate of transport per quintal. However, according to this payment, the remaining expenses including diesel, and driver will have to be paid. According to the data, 120 transporters work to reach the fair price ration shops. There is only one transporter in most of the districts. In such a situation, this scheme will prove to be better for food supply and self-employment.
