Alternaria leaf spot disease in soybean crop
  • Alternaria leaf spot disease sometimes appears in the soybean crop just after the sowing.
  • When the plant grows, it appears on the leaves and pods of the soybean crop.
  • In this disease, round brown spots appear on the leaves and these spots grow slowly and finally the affected leaves dry up and fall.
  • For the prevention of this disease, use Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP@ 300 gram / acre  or Kitazin @ 300 gram / acre or Trichoderma viride @ 500 gram  / acre.

Alternaria leaf blight control in bottle gourd

  • Yellow spots appear on leaves which turn brown and finally turn black on aging. 
  • They usually start from margins and produce concentric rings.  
  • Severely affected vines look like burnt charcoal.
  • Adopt clean cultivation and crop rotation cultural practices are adopted for prevention of disease. 
  • Spray Mancozeb 75% WP @ 400 gram/acre or hexaconazole 5% SC @ 300 ml/acre at 10-15 days intervals.
  • Spray chlorothalonil 75% WP @ 300 gram/acre at 10 days intervals.

Alternaria Leaf Spot in Cauliflower and Cabbage

Alternaria Leaf spot in Cauliflower and Cabbage:-

Symptoms:-

  • Small dark yellow spot appear on the leaf surface.
  • Later on the spots enlarge to circulars areas with bluish concentric rings.
  • In severe cases, the entire plant defoliates.
  • Violet to dark blackish-brown spots develop on infected curd, stem and pods.

Control:-

  • Use certified seeds.
  • Give hot water treatment to seed at 50OC for 30 Minutes.
  • Spray the crop with Mancozeb 3 gm per litre of water or Copper oxychloride 3 gm per litre of water at 10-15 days intervals, first spray be given on the appearance of symptoms.
