The Government of India is running many campaigns to stop the increasing use of plastic in the country. However, despite this, plastic is being used indiscriminately. Seeing its need among the people, the Center has kept bamboo as an alternative to plastic.

To promote bamboo, the central government has started the National Bamboo Mission scheme. Under this mission, emphasis has been laid on cultivating bamboo to eliminate the use of plastic, so that instead of plastic, people use bamboo products more and more. For this, the government is giving bumper subsidies to the people who want to cultivate bamboo.
