Major sucking pests that damage moong crop

  • The major sucking insects that damage the green gram crop are aphids and jassids, thrips, whitefly etc. They damage the crop by sucking the sap from the soft parts of the crop like leaves, flowers, pods etc. If these pests are properly identified and managed at the proper time, then a considerable part of the produce can be saved from destruction.
