Seeds of pulses will be given free

India ranks first in the world in pulses production. Even after this, pulses consumption in India is so high that even pulses have to be imported. For this reason, the government wants to become self-sufficient in the production of pulses crops and a special strategy has also been devised for this.

Under this strategy, certified seeds of pulses crops will be given free to the farmers. Mini kits of seeds will be delivered by the central and state agencies to the district level centers scheduled from 15 June 2021, from where it will be given to the farmers.
